AIMSSEC Administrative Users

In order to access the AIMSSEC Administrative Users' files you need to get a password from Toni Beardon.

Linux, BSD or *nix

As a linux or bsd user you might be familiar with the tools sftp and scp:

Windows

If you are a windows user then please follow these steps:

Download the program Windows Secure Copy (winscp) which will give you a connection to the AIMSSEC account hosted at AIMS: winscp download page (choose the latest Installation Package). Install winscp with all the default options.

When you run the program (double click on the icon in the folder where you saved it) you will see a window like this one:

Create a new session (top right) and connect to the host ssh.aims.ac.za with the user aimssec using the sftp protocol. Use the password which Toni Beardon provided to you. This will give you access to the filespace, where you can read or write files. One interface looks like the following window, where the left is your local drive and the right is the AIMSSEC filespace hosted at AIMS.
